The Y's Thanksgiving Morning Turkey Trot Charity 5K is a family event that raises urgently needed funds to support children and families in Central Maryland. The Y serves thousands of children and families in the region, and each year the demand for financial aid for Y youth programs grows. Volunteers play a critical role towards a successful event, assisting with needs before, and on, Thanksgiving morning. Volunteer needs: Race day set-up, Race registration, Packet pick-up, Food/Beverage Table, Mile Sign Holders, Water station team, Walkers/Runners, Odd Job Runners, Finish Line Assistants, Parking/Traffic Attendants, Race day breakdown Packet Pickup will all take place at The Ward Y this year: Tuesday, November 26: The Ward Family Y in Abingdon, 3:00 pm – 8:00 pm Wednesday, November 27: The Ward Family Y in Abingdon, 10:00 am – 7:00 pm Thursday, November 28: McComas Funeral Home Bel Air parking lot, 7:00 am
